Meet the GL Search Team

Curtis LaClaire

Co-Founder, Managing Partner, talent Search Division

Curtis leads the Global Leader Search division and specializes in searches in the SG&A space, specifically in finance, IT, general counsel, HR, Sales and Marketing. He brings over 25 years of experience in finding talent and working with senior leadership teams in critical foundational and HR executive roles, including as the CHRO at Foster Farms, HR Vice President at Honeywell, and former Partner at DHR, the fifth largest talent search firm in the world.

LaClaire is a global leader, having lived and worked extensively in Latin and Central America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Central and Southeast Asia. He speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish. He holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Economics from Idaho State University and a Juris Doctorate and MBA from Brigham Young University. He is a member of the Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Community, the Native American Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Labor & Employment Section), the Society of HR Planning, Society for Human Resource Managers, and a board member of the OBHR Advisory Council at the Marriott School of Management, as well as the Foundation for International Law and Management.

Curtis is married to the love of his life, Becky, and the father of six children. He currently resides in Mesa, Arizona.

Edward Stanworth

Senior partner

Edward Stanworth is a Sr Partner of the Global Leader Talent Search practice and a member of the Advisory Council.

Before joining Global Leader, Edward held various HR executive roles with Bridgestone Americas, Halliburton, and Pepsi Bottling Group.  He has a demonstrated track record of designing and implementing successful HR solutions to address complex business issues.  Moreover, he has built out global teams to be more strategic and that enable the business to deliver stronger bottom-line performance.

As a practitioner, he’s seen the criticality of leadership and how a new leader can energize a division, transform a function, or provide crucial strategic reorientation.  He has led searches across the Americas, Europe, and Africa--from the Board and C-suite level to other critical roles deep into the organization.  Edward is passionate about safeguarding the client’s brand throughout the search process and providing an exceptional candidate experience.

He has been an active member of both West Virginia University’s MSHRM Advisory Board and Brigham Young University’s OBHR Advisory Council and has been a featured speaker at many universities and non-profit organizations.  Recently, he has been actively involved with the Urban League of Middle Tennessee—establishing and leading a mentoring program with the UL’s Young Professionals—pairing seasoned leaders with the UL’s emerging professionals.

After many moves across the U.S. and a 3-year assignment in the UK, he calls Nashville, Tennessee home with his wonderful wife Laura and their 3 sons.  He loves exploring the wilds of Tennessee’s forests, rivers, and caves and is always aspiring to take his mountain biking skills to the next level.

Cassius F. Butts

SENIOR PARTNER, MANAGING DIRECTOR, BOARD PRACTICE

Cassius is a nationally known trusted advisor, executive and serial entrepreneur. Throughout the past 25 years, he has held executive roles with leading financial institutions, as well as worked with three presidential administrations, leading highly strategic efforts in the economic/finance, housing, and small business sectors. Cassius is sought after by organizations for his expertise in finding and developing diverse and underrepresented talent and then connecting them to boards and senior leadership teams.

In 2011, under the Obama administration, Cassius was appointed as Regional Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), which including five record-breaking years achieving over $30 billion dollars in small business lending. Under the George W. Bush Administration, Cassius served as a Presidential Management Fellow within the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).

Cassius is a graduate of Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University’s Graduate School of Public Administration, and Emory University’s Life Learning Institute. He enjoys volunteering his time with several organizations such as, Chairman of the Fort McPherson Local Redevelopment Authority, Board Advisor for the Morehouse College Department of Business and Economics and the Georgia Department of Economic Development Board. He also serves on the PGA TOUR Championship Host Committee, National Black MBA Association Board and the WellStar Health Systems-Research Review Board.

Cassius was raised in Orlando, FL, and currently resides in Atlanta, GA. He enjoys the creation of the multimedia podcast www.talktocassius.com which focuses on today’s business, sports, and entertainment topics.

Joe Nabrotzky

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Joe brings two decades of experience finding and building leaders, including time as an entrepreneur driving scale and as a Global HR Executive hiring thousands of people in every function and major region for a Fortune 100 multinational. As a practitioner who had to live with every hiring decision, he gained expertise in identifying the core competencies, behaviors, and decision-making abilities of great leaders during the assessment process.

As a global leader, Nabrotzky has lead people in every major region and lived all over the world. While born in the USA, he spent years speaking only Portuguese in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, and recently returned to Utah with his wife and four children after five years in the French-speaking region of Switzerland.

Joe holds a bachelor's degree in Finance & Banking from UVU, an MBA in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from Brigham Young University, and is OD (Organizational Development) Certified through National Training Laboratories.

Jonathan Nabrotzky

Founder & CEO

Jonathan has over 25 years of experience as a global senior leader in the Sales, Coaching, Retail and Banking sectors. He worked for 15 years at HSBC, living in seven countries: the USA, UK, Hong Kong, India, Qatar, Lebanon and Israel. His last role at HSBC was as Global Head of the Branch Network, responsible for 3,400 branches worldwide servicing 37 million customers and with 21 billion dollars in revenue. Immediately prior, as Global Head of Wealth Sales & Distribution he oversaw customer satisfaction targets of 94% and balances of 620 billion. He has worked at all levels in banking from a front-line sales agent to branch manager, area sales leader to country head and world-wide lead.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has improved the process and procedures in hiring, training, and retaining leaders in financial markets. He believes the key to success in any organization comes from coaching and leading employees to enable them to achieve business objectives and to be their best selves with emphasis on finding a cultural fit.

He is a native of Southern California and holds a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University. He has been married for 23 years to his sweetheart Michelle and they are the parents of six children. Jonathan is passionate about music, sings with his family, loves to read and constantly learn new things. After 13 years overseas he now resides in Provo, Utah.

Elizabeth Oates

CO-FOUNDER, MANAGING PARTNER AND COO

Elizabeth is a strategic financial services executive with experience that ranges from global leadership to local management in complex and challenging situations. Having over 20 years of comprehensive financial service experience, she uses a pragmatic approach to drive business outcomes and build teams across customer journeys, customer relationship management & analytics, sales management, incentives and digital transformation. Much of her success has been achieved through her strong understanding of the User as she holds first-hand knowledge of being a financial advisor, Bank Branch Manager and National Sales Leader in earlier parts of her career.

In addition to being a co-founder and Chief Operations Officer, Elizabeth leads Global Leader Group’s Accelerate You: Women in Leadership program to help those who identify as female develop themselves and build leadership capabilities, while also creating the right mindset to achieve ultimate success in life. Elizabeth resides in the Toronto area with her husband Max of 13 years and their two sons. As a family they are active in the community, particularly as advocates for education and benevolence. Elizabeth also devotes time to leading women's networking groups and inspirational speaking.

Malik Sarwar

Senior Partner

Malik has over 35 years in finance having worked for Merrill Lynch, Citi and HSBC. He was Regional Head of Citi in Asia and has worked in over 8 countries. He is an expert in all things management and advisory services.

Malik is a noted speaker/panelist and frequent chair at industry conferences on: Wealth Management best practices, including digital innovations and exceptional client experience; mega-trends like women’s empowerment, generational wealth transfer; primary advisors and team leader excellence, and financial advisory platforms/products innovation.

As Global Head of Sales Management/Wealth Development at HSBC, Malik renewed the company’s wealth management business in 12 markets through a digital transformation program centered on client journeys that resulted in double-digit growth of client assets. Prior to that, he launched the wealth management proposition at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. He has also served as a Senior Executive at Permal, Merrill Lynch, and Citi. During his 7 years at Citi, he was the President of Citicorp Investment Services (US) and Head of Wealth Management (Asia), growing their market share and profitability.

Malik is the co-author of “Mechanics of Wealth Management”, a post-graduate certificate program with Informa/Middlesex University, UK. He is an Advisor and, along with his wife Najmi, a Development Partner at Acumen, a pioneering social impact organization. He is also active with Developments in Literacy, a non-profit that provides education to underprivileged girls in rural Pakistan. Malik, Najmi, their two daughters, and two sons are avid hikers and scuba divers. He is based in London and New York.

LuAnne Kingston

Senior Partner

LuAnne is a passionate leader who drives business growth through relationship development, talent alignment and culture building, with a focus on consistently delivering positive results. LuAnne has a diversified executive leadership background that includes experience in multiple business and functional areas, infrastructure development, organizational effectiveness, diversity & inclusion, and leadership development.

Having a passion for customers, she ultimately returned to personal banking where she was responsible for developing affluent customer proposition strategies and driving growth through employee and customer-focused initiatives in the retail branch network, contact center, and digital channels. Selected to join the global Channels team, LuAnne oversaw staff technology tools and frontline experience for 100,000 staff across all channels and 67 countries where HSBC operates.

Starting her career in the Mortgage business, LuAnne held roles in Human Resources, Learning and Development, and Quality. Having a passion for customers, she ultimately returned to personal banking where she was responsible for developing affluent customer proposition strategies and leading the retail bank branch network, driving growth through employee and customer-focused initiatives.

LuAnne believes in lifelong learning, holding both her undergraduate degree and MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a graduate of the Consumer Bankers Association Graduate School of Retail Bank Management, University of Virginia, is Six Sigma Quality Black Belt certified, and previously held series 7 and 66 securities licensing. She has attended executive leadership courses in Switzerland, India, Hong Kong, London, and the U.S.

LuAnne is a Buffalo, New York native, and, with her husband Jeff, recently established their Tampa Bay Florida-area home. They have two daughters, Kelly and Lindsay, who are pursuing their personal and career dreams.

Sean Brown

Partner

Sean is a global sales executive with over 25 years experience across multiple industries from medical to financial services to network marketing. In his most current role his responsibilities have included leading over ten thousand sales professionals spanning thirteen countries.

Sean is a strategic thinker who is known for his ability to remove and navigate obstacles. He spends significant time teaching execution and accountability while building a reputation as someone who delivers results to the top and bottom lines. His holistic approach to sales management, leadership development and industry leading sales training delivers immediate returns to sales organizations worldwide.

In his role as Global VP of Sales for Youngevity, Sean was tasked with uncovering gaps in sales performance across multiple markets. By working with Country Sales Heads and meeting the needs of those gaps with real time strategies, Sean delivered results totaling 120 million dollars annually. Sean’s success can be tied to his front line experience as a top performer across many roles with large companies such as Bank of America & HSBC.

Sean is a firm believer in excellence, hard work and leadership development. He believes that by investing in your internal team and helping them to deliver a first class experience to customers, companies will separate themselves from the competition. As a student of the sales cycle and customer experience, he has learned to deliver immediate lift to clients in a tangible way. Sean possesses the ability to help leaders identify and retain top talent while working with them to become aware of blind spots that are holding them back.

Sean resides in Utah with his Wife Annelise of 23 years and their 4 sons ages 12 through 20. They are very much a soccer family with their two youngest sons 14 & 12 playing all year round. Their family is very active in the community with Annelise serving as a volunteer head of a large women’s organization, and Sean teaching volunteer leadership classes to groups of youth around Utah.

Highly regarded as a courageous leader, he has a reputation for being an innovative thinker, and tactical executor, of cross-cultural talent training and development programs along with client relationship strategies.
